i love me some christmas time! the smells, the lights and even the music. my favorite tradition is going to the rich neighborhoods, driving around, and looking at lavish lights. this year we went with an unconventional xmas tree...an aluminum ladder. it fits the budget and there's no need to use a ladder to put the star on top. so, to inspire all, here are some unique ideas for your xmas tree.

glitter shoes
glitter shoes are super faboosh right now, but not the price. my favorite are by miu miu, but the $600 blows. we all have a pair of beaten down heels in the back of our closet, right? if the taps are worn down, just go to your local cobbler, not the peach kind, and they can usually be replaced for less the the $10. then grab glitter, mod podge, and acrylic spray and puhdamn! glitter shoes. here's a little how to video from popsugar.com

threadsence
too many hot cheetos = bellyache = couch bound looking at threadsence.com. great site with reasonable prices. here are some of my favorites to add to my wardrobe...to hide the cheeto belly
tights
one of the BEST things about the fall/winter is tights!!! i add them to just about every outfit i wear in the chilly weather. i love patterns, colors and solids. i have some that i've had for years...yes, years. there's no need to spend $10-$20 for a pair. my secret: walgreens & cvs! you can usually buy them between $5-$7 and they last much longer then the department store kind. here are some of my tips and tricks for making them last through the seasons:
- buy a size bigger - if you're between a size, go up. you won't have that low uncomfortable awkward crotch walk. it's the same principle as pantyhose, if you are constantly yanking at them, they will get a run and be ruined. because they are larger, they'll be more opaque and less slutty.
- wash them in cold water and hang to dry - because they are a microfiber, heat will wear and break down the material.
- store them in a sock- i put them in the same drawer with my lingerie and there is nothing crummier then when a bra hook snags one and tares it.
- pattern, pattern, pattern - patterns are more intricately woven and have allot less chance of running.
- inexpensive doesn't mean cheap quality - i have purchased tights of all different price ranges and i always go back to the inexpensive ones. my favorite places are walgreens, cvs and forever 21 when i want something fun.
- wear socks with boots - it's just more comfortable and they don't get balled in the bottom of your boot and get stinky!
